Helen Brushart

Founder, Director

Helen started Second Chances Treatment after years spent working across the addiction recovery landscape - not just providing support, but building programs and helping others shape spaces where people can truly heal. She believes that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and to be seen as more than their struggle. Helen's dedication comes from both professional experience and the heart to serve her community.

Her vision is simple: create an environment where every individual feels safe, respected, and understood. For Helen, recovery goes far beyond stopping harmful behaviors - she believes it means rediscovering strengths, reuniting families, securing employment, and regaining confidence. She founded Second Chances Treatment so clients could receive practical tools for life along with unwavering support, knowing that transformation is possible when someone walks the journey beside you. Helen remains committed to building hope and partnerships rooted in human connection, one client and one day at a time.

Our Heart and Mission

Real transformation begins with dignity and connection, not just treatment plans. The story of Second Chances Treatment grows from many years spent helping people unlock their own strength, long before we opened our doors. The founder's path led through every layer of addiction and recovery support - direct client care, program development, and guiding other organizations to create safe places for healing. Along this journey, a simple, powerful truth emerged: real recovery happens only when people are seen for who they are.

Second Chances Treatment exists for one purpose: to treat each person with the respect, compassion, and faith they deserve. Here, clients receive more than strategies for sobriety - they gain practical tools, hope for the future, and a community that believes in them. The center's mission is grounded in helping individuals rebuild their self-worth, reconnect with families, learn new skills, and step into life with renewed purpose. Our intentionally small, relationship-focused model keeps care personal, making sure each person is valued and known by name. This commitment, rooted in authentic experience and unwavering belief in possibility, shapes everything we do at Second Chances.
